Tiga Trombone brings together eleven recordings by Malaysian composer, arranger and pianist Alfonso Soliano, originally made for Radio Television Malaysia and pressed only in small broadcast runs. Across pieces including Masth Chantani, Ida, Surya Pagi and Petaling Jaya, Soliano works between jazz, Latin influence and traditional Malay musical language, with Johari Salleh and Ahmad Nawab among the musicians involved.
This first release on Habibi Funk’s sister label Audible Beauty gives the material a proper archival presentation without overcomplicating it. The LP comes in a gatefold sleeve with an attached 12-page booklet featuring essays, historical material and previously unpublished photography, fully licensed from the Soliano family.
