basiC realitieS – Summer Love
Vibraphone Records (VIBR023)
Two deep-house originals from Stefano Curti, each paired with a Larry Heard remix under his Gherkin Jerks alias.
basiC realitieS — the project of Stefano Curti — lands on Vibraphone with Summer Love, a four-track 12-inch built around two originals and two remixes. Summer Love takes the first side alongside Larry Heard’s Gherkin Jerks rework, with Desert Valley receiving the same treatment on the reverse.
It’s a very natural pairing: Curti’s house framework on one side of the equation, Heard given room to reshape both pieces in his own way. Deep house is the centre of gravity here, with enough acid-house character around the edges to keep things a little less settled.
