Early Prescription deep house at its most patient — four untitled grooves where repetition is very much the point.

Originally released in 1994, Hip To Be Disillusioned Vol. 1 catches Chez Damier and Ron Trent working with the stripped-back language that made those early Prescription records so distinctive. Bass, drums, chords and short loops are given plenty of room, with the tracks changing gradually rather than chasing obvious peaks.

All four cuts remain untitled, adding to the low-key character of the original. This edition brings the complete EP back on limited turquoise vinyl, more than thirty years after it first appeared on Prescription.
