DJ Duke – Old Skool Deep Sampler Vol. 2
Power Music Records (PMD-059)
DJ Duke tips his hat to four early house figures with another round of stripped-back, old-school house.
Old Skool Deep Sampler Vol. 2 continues the idea behind Duke’s original sampler, this time looking to Frankie Knuckles, Boyd Jarvis, Farley Jackmaster Funk and Chip E. Knuckles and Jarvis take the A-side, with Farley and Chip E on the reverse.
The references are right there in the track names, but this is still very much a DJ Duke record rather than a straight recreation. Four house cuts built with an obvious respect for the drum machines, grooves and early club records that came before them.
Ships fast Australia-wide.
