Hypno Disc is the production alias of Sheffield DJ Harry Shackleton, co-owner of Grub Records and one half of Wow & Flutter. Robot Wars marks both his first EP under the name and the opening release on Hara Discs, with four tracks shaped by the club sound surrounding Sheffield’s Control. parties.
The title track leans hardest into tribal rhythm and UK club influence, while REF BOT, Firestorm and Matilda move between acid detail, tech house and tougher techno. The Robot Wars concept gives the record its character, but underneath it is a tight, direct four-tracker built around rhythm and low-end pressure.
