Dub techno slowed right down, with rhythm, voice and atmosphere given plenty of room to drift.
tides opens the record before Mohlao reshapes it into a heavier, more hypnotic version on the A-side. tides version takes the idea somewhere more spacious on the flip, with ital closing things out through low-slung rhythm and Javier Salazar’s own vocals.
There’s dub techno at the centre of KLP05, but ambient and minimal ideas keep pulling at the edges. Composed, produced and mixed by Salazar, with mastering by Vincent Villuis at Ultimae Studios.
