Metropolis Metropolis finds Jeff Mills returning to Fritz Lang’s 1927 film with a more fluid, symphonic approach to electronic composition. The record moves through techno, experimental electronics and cinematic machine rhythm, built less like a standard club album and more like a full score shaped around tension, atmosphere and motion.

Released on Axis as AX107, this three-record vinyl edition presents an abbreviated version of Mills’ more recent Metropolis soundtrack. It connects his long-running techno language with film scoring, using synthetic pulses, orchestral scale and colder machine textures to frame one of cinema’s great visions of the future.
