LA MARR is a new project from Ron Trent, introduced here with the first entry in an ongoing series for Music From Memory. Good Magic stretches across the A-side for nearly thirteen minutes, while Clear takes the reverse, both developing gradually through synth patterns, floating pads and organic percussion.
The rhythmic instinct behind Trent’s work is still present, but the emphasis shifts towards ambient and environmental music, with dub, New Age and Krautrock among the wider reference points. Two long-form pieces built with plenty of space and detail rather than a conventional club structure.
