Luca Piermattei – Natural Recordings Vol. 2
Polarity Records (POLO-08)
Stripped-back tech house with a melodic edge, shaped by a more focused return to the studio.
Luca Piermattei returns to Polarity Records with Natural Recordings Vol. 2, the label’s eighth release. Beautiful Emotions, Catch Me, Open Your Eyes and Test Of Life make up the four-track 12-inch, sitting around tech house, minimal and the deeper end of house and techno.
The record comes from a more reduced approach to production, leaving more room around the drums, bass and melodic elements. Beautiful Emotions set that direction with distorted 808 sounds, synths, pads and vocoder, and the rest of the EP follows with the same emphasis on space, movement and arrangement.
