"Smile," the second release from Retrograde, marks head-honcho Marlon Hoffstadt's debut on the label, collaborating with Chicago House Music icon Paris Brightledge. The EP features four tracks showcasing their creative synergy. The title track, "Smile," beautifully blends Paris's hypnotic vocals with Marlon's smooth production. The Venus Rx Remix by Detroit's Kris Wadsworth adds a unique analog touch to elevate the atmosphere. On the B-side, "Lies" is a percussion-driven, 303-based club workout that reflects the struggle of expressing emotions. Label artist Matteo Luis provides a synth-accented remix, foreshadowing his forthcoming RTGD 003. The EP is just the beginning of Paris and Marlon's collaborations on Retrograde.
