A Cordial Punch in the Gut takes the A-side, working around a tightly wound groove and the kind of clipped, slightly unruly percussion Narcotic Syntax do so well. The Narconauts (in Post-anaesthesia Recovery) follows on the reverse, taking a looser and more suspended route without losing the rhythmic pull underneath.
James Dean Brown and yapacc keep both sides sparse enough for the strange bits to properly register. Minimal techno at the centre, with house swing and a more experimental edge quietly pulling at it from either side.
