Pearson Sound makes a dynamic return to Hessle Audio with an EP that spans various tempos. The lead track, 'Red Sky,' is a captivating blend of euphoric arpeggios and growling basslines, underpinned by robust breakbeats. It's equally effective in the peak of a rave or as a sunrise soundtrack. 'Sinkhole' pairs crisp, swung drums with a bassline that's sure to stick in your head, while dubbed-out echoes add depth. On the flipside, 'Freefall' incorporates eerie samples from Delia Derbyshire and Barry Bermange's 1960s 'Dreams' BBC radio broadcast, creating a hypnotic atmosphere with droning pads and punchy 909s. Finally, 'Around in Circles' harks back to Pearson Sound's earlier 'Autonomic' work, delivering a 160bpm journey with yearning melodies and percussive drive.
