Riots brings Pomegranate Sounds together with Scottish vocalist Vixen Sound for a conscious roots record built around heavy bass, clean skank and sound system movement. Ostrich works as a ska-tinged steppers discomix, while Starting Riots pushes the message into a tougher roots shape.
Released as POMS007, the EP also includes Dubbing Riots, giving the record a proper dub version to close. It is the label’s debut vinyl release, connecting roots reggae, dub and outernational production with a clear protest spirit at its centre.
