To Feel Embraced is the debut album from Sparkle Division, the project of William Basinski and Preston Wendel. It moves away from Basinski’s more familiar ambient tape-loop world, leaning into lounge, jazz-funk, disco, soul and loose downtempo rhythm.

Released on Temporary Residence Limited as TRR345LP, the album has a warm, playful feel across processed drums, saxophone, voice and soft electronic grooves. It is leftfield, but not cold — more like an odd little jazz-funk record filtered through studio experiments and late-night electronics.
