Born in Roma in 1959, Guiseppe “Peps” Cotumaccio led "Sweet Reaction" in South Africa. Collaborating with artists like Neville Nash, the band disbanded during Apartheid. "BIG5 Boogie #2" features Dion Williamson's explosive rendition of "Take it Easy," influenced by Willie Hutch. The 12" includes a broken beat version and a funky house remix. Side B highlights the band's superb composition, "African Sunrise." Kid Fonque from Johannesburg concludes with a groove-filled deep house refix, making it another essential release from Voom Voom Records.
