Originally surfacing in the mid-90s, ‘Systematic Breakdown’ was one of those tracks that cut through everything around it — an odd, winding synth motif, a long tension build, and that unmistakable DCE grit. This reissue brings the original feeling back with care, packaging, and the detail the label was known for.
‘Gyre 303’ pushes a relentless acid line with the kind of drive that defined the early DCE era, while ‘Solarize’ takes a more spaced-out route with fluttering pulses and bright PWM leads. ‘Outback Uplink’ marks a moment in the label’s history — that first signal sent out from Australia, long before global connectivity meant anything.
‘Angels’ closes the EP with a nod to Ron Murphy’s original backwards cut — distortion, reversed cymbals and off-grid drums stitched into a left-field, almost secret message hidden in the groove.
