True Pleasures open with the distorted push of Pump before Iori Wakasa and Keita Sano bend things towards oddball disco on Teachers. Ben Gomori’s Gomorish brings a jackin’, hip-house feel to the flip, leaving Pegasvs to close with the sharper electro pulse of Ridley Road Market Preacher.
It makes for a fitting final chapter in Monologues Records’ ten-year series. Acid holds the four tracks together, but house, disco and electro all get a turn without the record settling into one obvious style.
