Iseo is the latest LP from Turn On The Sunlight, the long-running project led by Jesse Peterson. Its seven vinyl tracks draw from recordings made across Maui, Los Angeles, Tokyo, London and San Miguel de Allende, bringing acoustic instruments, voice and environmental sound into loose, unhurried arrangements.
The title track is a lullaby sung by Luis Pérez Ixoneztli, while the fifteen-minute Medianoche En La Calle Aurora gives the record its most extended stretch. Carlos Niño, Mia Doi Todd, Laraaji, Ko Ishikawa and Miles Spilsbury are among the wider group involved, adding to a record that moves naturally between ambient, jazz and new age territory.
